Story-Telling in Virtual Environments

This paper discusses the conceptual background of a research project which aims at investigating how theories on autobiographical memory can be applied to a virtual environment, e.g. Brightown, and how such an approach could 1) create an interesting virtual environment which 2) meets the cognitive needs of its users and their way of representing, encoding and reconstructing memories in terms of stories, so that 3) Brightown can provide a meaningful and personalized home for its inhabitants.
